The Hope Police Department is investigating after a body was found in a wooded area Saturday evening.
The Hope Police Department is investigating after a body was found in a wooded area Saturday evening.
Police say the body was discovered around 8 p.m. while someone was cleaning a property. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, investigators were unable to immediately determine the person's race or sex.
The Hempstead County Coroner estimates the individual had been dead for about a week. The body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the person's identity, as well as the cause and manner of death.
