Deputies in White County, Arkansas, arrested a man Monday connected to a double homicide in Bowie County, Texas. Clyde Allen Stephens II was taken into custody after a police chase while driving a car rented by one of the victims, 63-year-old Donna Culpepper.
Culpepper and Charles Beckham were found dead Thursday near De Kalb. Relatives found Culpepper’s body in Beckham’s driveway, and his burned truck was discovered behind the home. Investigators later found Beckham’s body.
Stephens faces charges for unauthorized use of a vehicle but is also being questioned in the killings. Authorities are working on his extradition to Texas.
