The Arkansas Department of Community Corrections says escaped work-release inmate Antarian Wright is back in custody. The 30-year-old walked away from a job site in Hope early Thursday and made his way to Texarkana.
Police searched several locations, including the Beacon Point Apartments on Arkansas Boulevard, where Wright’s girlfriend lives. Authorities say he briefly escaped from the apartment around 3:40 a.m.
He was later captured near a wooded area by the Dollar General store and booked into the Bi-State Jail. Wright had been serving time for aggravated robbery and firearm-related theft.
His girlfriend, 26-year-old Precious White, was also arrested and taken to the Miller County Jail.
