A Bowie County inmate is facing new charges after allegedly assaulting two correctional officers at the jail.
Thirty-two-year-old Trevon Doushea Norton was in a segregated unit on October 27 when officers ordered detainees back to their cells.
According to an affidavit, Norton blocked his cell door from closing, forced his way out, and punched an officer. When others stepped in, he allegedly hit a second officer.
Norton was already being held on a parole violation and a felony drug charge. He now faces two counts of assault on a public servant, each carrying up to ten years in prison. Bail is set at $230,000.
