The state fire marshal is investigating a massive fire that destroyed part of Gentry Chevrolet in De Queen early Wednesday morning. Crews were called around 4:30 a.m. to the family-owned dealership off Highway 70.
Fire Chief Michael Pruitt says flames tore through the back of the building and burned about 10 vehicles before firefighters got it under control. Nearly 40 firefighters from three departments battled the blaze for two hours. No one was inside and no injuries were reported. Gentry Chevrolet has served the community for more than 50 years. The cause remains under investigation.
