Texarkana has officially been named a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community by the Texas Film Commission, part of Governor Greg Abbott’s Economic Development and Tourism Office.
The certificate was presented Tuesday to Mayor Bob Bruggeman and city staff at City Hall. City Manager David Orr says the recognition positions Texarkana as a welcoming location for film, television, animation, and more.
The certification process included submitting photos of local sites, researching ordinances, and presenting to the city council.
Governor Abbott congratulated Texarkana, saying the designation helps create jobs and boosts spending at local businesses through media production.
