A Bowie County grand jury has indicted 21-year-old Jatoria Renae Cleamons of Texarkana for manslaughter and injury to a child in the death of her 8-month-old son, Courtlyn Jacoby Cleamons.
A Bowie County grand jury has indicted 21-year-old Jatoria Renae Cleamons of Texarkana for manslaughter and injury to a child in the death of her 8-month-old son, Courtlyn Jacoby Cleamons.
Investigators say she admitted to dipping the baby in scalding water on January 22 after becoming angry. He died from thermal injuries on February 4.
Cleamons initially blamed others but later confessed, according to court records. She remains in jail on $5.5 million bond.
If convicted, she faces up to life in prison. The case is assigned to Judge Bill Miller.
