A traffic stop Tuesday afternoon in Texarkana led to the arrest of a 56-year-old woman on multiple drug charges. Around 2:15 p.m., Corporal Segura pulled over a maroon Jeep Patriot near East 49th and County Avenue for not displaying a license plate. The driver, identified as Dorothy Pounders, was questioned when officers detected a faint odor of marijuana.
A K9 unit from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office was called in, and the dog alerted to narcotics near the driver’s side. A search turned up about 49 grams of suspected meth, 3 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, small baggies, and $767 in cash.
Pounders was arrested and booked into the Miller County Detention Center. The cash was seized and is pending forfeiture.
