After two serious crashes involving mail trucks on I-30 in Texarkana, the Texas Department of Transportation is taking extra safety steps in a construction zone.
The crashes happened near State Line Avenue, where a FedEx truck recently hit a concrete barrier in the eastbound lanes.
TxDOT says the area already meets safety standards, but crews will now extend concrete barriers to help create a smoother transition for drivers entering the construction zone.
Officials urge drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and stay alert.
They're also asking local traffic to use frontage roads to reduce congestion on the highway.
