TSA agents at Texarkana Regional Airport are still reporting for duty despite not being paid during the government shutdown. Airport Director Paul Mehrlich says the situation is tough for employees who still need to cover basic expenses like gas and rent.
To help, the Harvest Regional Food Bank delivered food boxes to the 16 local TSA workers. Executive Director Camille Wrinkle says the food includes produce, meat, canned goods, and dry items to help families get through the next few weeks.
Mehrlich says community support—whether through donations or simple kindness—means a lot during this difficult time. The food bank says it’s ready to return if more help is needed.
