The Texarkana City Council meets Monday to vote on two major items affecting the city’s economy and utility costs.
Council members will consider approving a $2.5 million engineering contract for a new aircraft maintenance facility at Texarkana Regional Airport. The project is backed by a $22 million TxDOT grant and is expected to bring skilled aviation jobs to the area.
The Council will also vote on a resolution to block a proposed SWEPCO power rate aimed at large users like cryptocurrency miners, citing concerns it could raise costs for residential customers.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall.
