A Texarkana man has been arrested and charged with stalking after allegedly violating a no-contact order involving his former girlfriend.

A Texarkana man has been arrested and charged with stalking after allegedly violating a no-contact order involving his former girlfriend.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 27-year-old Zachary Dacus repeatedly drove by the woman’s home on Space Drive Sunday evening while calling and texting her dozens of times. Police say he also contacted a female friend who was at the residence and sent messages describing what the women were wearing, causing them to feel they were being watched.

Officers responded to multiple calls that night, including a separate report on Hazel Street where another man claimed Dacus damaged his vehicle and tried to start a fight.

Police later located Dacus in a Chevrolet Silverado near Central Mall and arrested him in a nearby parking lot.

Dacus is being held in the Bowie County Jail on a $10,000 bond. If convicted, he could face two to ten years in prison. The case has been assigned to Judge John Tidwell.
